Four year old Persian is fascinated with everything about the police, including their cars and the noise the sirens make. He especially loves his local Community Police Officer, George.
Persian is fighting a Wilm’s tumour, a form of kidney cancer. Since diagnosis he has had a course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment and is now being monitored. When he grows up, he wants to be a policeman, so it came as no surprise when he asked us to grant his wish – to be a policeman for the day!
Thanks to the support of companies like yours, we were able to give Persian an amazing wish day. He was taken by hummer limousine to Edgbaston’s Tally Ho police training center where he was met by PCSOs George Homer and Melanie Foxall. Persian got to meet the dogs and handlers and sit in the police cars and on the bikes, even getting to sound the sirens like a real policeman! To really top the day off a special surprise was arranged – a visit from the National Police Air Service helicopter!
After the wish mum Kathleen told us, “The wish allowed him to just be a normal little boy and the memories of the day will help him cope with whatever is thrown at him next.”
