Give a life-changing gift in your Will
Writing your Will is an important way of taking care of your loved ones but did you know you could leave as little as 1% to Make-A-Wish UK and make a huge difference.
A gift in your Will helps us continue to grant life-changing wishes to seriously ill children, like four-year-old George who has been diagnosed with Batten disease, a rare and fatal form of childhood dementia.
George’s mum Claire said “I already know George’s wish is having a positive impact on him, because every time I talk to him or someone else about it, or show them the footage, he lights up like he remembers it. It is amazing to me that he has retained those memories. It’s lifted us both and helped me, as a mum to a seriously ill child, to get through another chunk of time, another set of appointments and medication and worry.”
If the time is ever right for you to remember a charity in your will please remember us.
How to leave a gift in your Will
There are a few ways that you can leave a gift to Make-A-Wish and your solicitor will be able to give you legal advice on the type that suits you best but here are a few options:
- A percentage of your estate – this is known as a residuary legacy
- A set cash amount – this is known as a pecuniary legacy
- An item, such as jewellery or property – this is known as a specific legacy
If you do decide to include us in your will, you will need our Charity Registration Numbers (England and Wales) 295672 (Scotland) SC037479; and our address:
Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, Seventh Floor, Thames Tower, Station Road, Reading, RG1 1LX.
It's up to you whether you want to let us know but if you would like to notify us of your intention to leave us a gift, or would like any more information, please contact fundraising on 0118 304 2775 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
